Nursing home cared for by PHS Waterlogic system

PHS Waterlogic is helping to bring cleaner, safer water to Southwark Park Nursing Home with the recent installation of a mains-fed water dispenser.
The nursing home’s duty of care towards its residents places safety and hygiene at the top of the agenda, which is why Southwark Park Nursing Home has taken recent action in ensuring clean, fresh drinking water supply is constantly available.
The system is simply connected to the mains water supply. This provides a constant supply of water without the need to replenish bottles, which can be costly in terms of waste - carbon emissions from transport lorries and storage space - and awkward for the user to handle. The system also benefits from inbuilt UV technology, which carries out a three-stage water purification process, guaranteeing pure, safe water within the EU guidelines. This point itself was a key factor for Jay Patel at Southwark Park Nursing Home when choosing the system.
“We need to bear in mind the health aspect of our patients in all food and beverage choices. Choosing the system was an easy choice due to its UV technology, which leaves us safe in the knowledge that everyone has access to safe, clean water. Considering the elderly residents of the care home, we also wanted to be without risk that we would run out of water, which is why we chose the Waterlogic system rather than a bottled water cooler. ” explains Jay.
The added benefits of the cooler system include an extra large drip tray and overflow cut-off mechanism, which is both helpful and practical given the surroundings in which it is being used. This helps to keep overflow waste and spillage to a minimum, reducing the risk of slippage, which is of paramount importance in a care home. The extra option of a drainage system can remove the water without any mess.
As more organisations push for environmental solutions, PHS Waterlogic provides peace of mind that its systems are helping to make drinking water ‘greener’, by recycling and reusing as much of the technology as possible. For example, all UV filtration lamps are recycled, along with the salvation of up to 60% of other parts that are used in Waterlogic’s cooler systems. From a company point of view, PHS is also compliant to the WEEE directive set in place to ensure that companies producing any technology with an electrical component take the relevant steps to ensure its safe disposal, with key emphasis on recycling.
