02/09/2009 00:00:00
The UK’s leading mains fed water cooler supplier, PHS Waterlogic, has recently been credited with PASA approval to supply water cooler units to the NHS.
NHS PASA (Purchasing and Supply Agency) is an executive agency of the Department of Health and works to ensure the NHS has access to the best possible resources available. With this in mind, PASA has awarded PHS Waterlogic its approval across its range of mains fed water cooler systems for inclusion within the NHS arena.
PHS Waterlogic is the only watercooler supplier that provides the complete hygiene solution, both inside and out, by utilising Biocote® and in tank UV technology, which is essential in hygiene conscious environments such as the NHS. BioCote® is an active anti-microbial protective coating that is incorporated into the Waterlogic cooler unit during the manufacturing process, to prevent the risk of cross-contamination by removing the growth and build up of bacteria.
Biocote® technology complements cleaning practices and reduces the levels of present harmful bacteria by 99.9% over a 24-hour period and is effective against a series of microbes such as MRSA, E.coli, Salmonella and Listeria, The technology is also guaranteed to be effective for the lifetime of the unit making it far more attractive to those within NHS departments.
PHS Waterlogic units also feature in-tank UV technology, which works inside the water tank to eliminate 99.999% of bacteria, such as legionella, MRSA, listeria, E.coli and salmonella. The UV technology provides an added line of defence without adding any chemicals or removing beneficial minerals from the water.
These two systems work together to reduce the risk of cross contamination, which is of extreme importance within the hospital and medical environments. In taking this double barrel approach, PHS Waterlogic provides its mains fed water cooler units with a complete hygiene package, both inside and out.
