Providing safe, clean drinking water is a key responsibility for employers.

Here Cath Morgan, Marketing Manager for PHS Waterlogic discusses the safety aspects of a mains fed water cooler.
The key benefits of PHS Waterlogic Mains-Fed water cooler systems are their ability to eliminate surface and water-borne bacteria from their drinking water systems.
Waterlogic technology utilises BioCote®, an active surface bacterial control treatment to its full potential. BioCote® is an anti-microbial protective coating that is incorporated into the Waterlogic cooler unit during the manufacturing process, to prevent the risk of cross-contamination by removing the growth and build up of bacteria.
The ‘active ingredients’ in BioCote® technology are silver ions, which are a natural anti-microbial. BioCote® technology complements cleaning practices and reduces the levels of present harmful bacteria by 99.9% over a 24-hour period. Biocote® is effective against a series of microbes such as MRSA, E.coli, Salmonella and Listeria, which can all be transferred through unhygienic or poorly cleaned water cooler units. The technology is also guaranteed to be effective for the lifetime of the unit, providing a unique selling point when choosing a water cooler system.
Waterlogic coolers also use a UV water purification process, which takes place inside the water tank. In-tank UV purification is scientifically proven to destroy 99.999% of water borne bacteria, without adding any chemicals or removing beneficial minerals from the water.
The two technologies combined provide a highly effective protection process against bacteria. This is particularly beneficial in schools, hospitals, care homes and high usage areas where the risk of contamination is greater. It is also just as worthwhile in a work environment where there is a need for fresh, clean drinking water on a daily basis to help aid the productivity of staff.
Knowing that safe and healthy drinking water is supplied to staff is the tip of the iceberg – the commercial impact of providing an unlimited water source will be a key consideration for many potential customers. Many are under the impression that the cost and complexity prohibits such supply arrangements. However, Totalcare, the inclusive service package from PHS Waterlogic, means that mains fed water dispensers are available at competitive rates.
Totalcare is an all-inclusive rental package designed to completely transfer risk and responsibility for the watercoolers to PHS Waterlogic, allowing customers to enjoy pure, filtered and chilled water without the inconvenience of cooler maintenance or constant ordering and delivery of cumbersome bottles. Totalcare provides unlimited water to staff, with no hidden costs or extra charges, and without the negative environmental effects of bottled water.
Comprising any Waterlogic mains-fed cooler, with cold or hot and cold water, delivered, installed and maintained by trained PHS Waterlogic service engineers, Totalcare is a way of spreading the cost. This includes twice-yearly planned preventative servicing, including all parts and labour, and a full call-out and repair service, available the next working day. These services are facilitated from a 24-hour, seven day manned customer service centre, ensuring customers can always receive the service they need.
